On the date of October 10th, 1889 in Sagamore Hill in Oyster Bay, New York, at the Roosevelt residence Theodore’s son, Kermit was born. There has already been one other child in the house held, and there would be a few more to come. Kermit after attending Groton School attended Harvard in 1901. Being a freshman in college Kermit went to Africa on a Safari and then explored Europe, with his father Theodore. Three years later on November 5th, 1912 Election Day came about. The candidates were Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and Taft. Woodrow Wilson won, and beat Theodore by 2.2 million votes. Taft was out of the question, he came in last place. Roosevelt knew he would lose but he was not used to it because he has always won everything. Almost a year after Election Day Theodore took his son Kermit, a small group of men, and a Brazilian explorer by the name of Colonel Candido Rondon on an expedition throughout the Brazilian jungle and on the River of Doubt. The trip only took one year before they came back in 1914, loosing men to disease, dangerous rapids, and Indian attacks. On August 22, 1917 when Kermit was 28 became the honorary captain in the British army. A year later on August 26, 1918 he was also awarded the military cross. Then that same year his youngest brother Quentin was shot.  In 1925 Kermit and his other brother, Theodore Roosevelt II went to the Himalayas on a hunting trip. Then on July 4, 1943 Kermit commit suicide and shot himself.
